Dance Club Events

The dance club in VVIT, supervised by Dr. K. Satyanarayana has identified many talented dancers in VVIT. After forming a group, the VVITians won many prizes in competitions held at several colleges in Andhra Pradesh. Students are trained with certified trainers. This club produces some earth shattering performances every year the college fest VIVA VVIT. Ms. A.Renuka Lakshmi and Mr. E.Saibaba are the external resource persons.


WESTERN SOLO

This is an individual event
Time limit for each participant is 5 minutes.
Telugu movie songs are not allowed.
This category has two rounds.
The song for the first round will be of contestant’s choice.
The song for second round will be of judge’s choice. In this round, contestants will be asked to perform on a given judges for 2-3 minutes.
Performance will be judged based on choreography & expressions.
The decision of judges and event head will be final.
Non Telugu songs have to be performed for western dance.

CLASSICAL SOLO

This is an individual event
Time limit for each participant is 5 minutes.
Telugu movie songs are not allowed.
This category has two rounds.
The song for the first round will be of contestant’s choice.
The song for second round will be of judge’s choice. In this round, contestants will be asked to perform on a given judges for 2-3 minutes.
Performance will be judged based on choreography & expressions.

JURY SOLO

This is an individual event.
This category has two rounds.
The song for the first round will be of judge’s choice. In this round, contestants will be asked to perform on a judges for 1 minute.
The song for the second round will be of contestant’s choice which the judges will be asked to perform for 3 minutes.
Performance will be judged based on choreography & expressions.
The decision of judges and event head will be final.
Non Telugu songs have to be performed for jury dance.

WESTERN GROUP

This is a team event and must only in between 3-12 participants.
Time limit for each team is 5-7 minutes.
Only non-Telugu songs have to be performed.
Performance will be judged based on choreography & expressions.
The decision of judges and event head will be final.
Non Telugu songs have to be performed for western dance.

CLASSICAL GROUP

This is a team event and must only in between 3-12 participants.
Time limit for each team is 5-7 minutes.
Only non-Telugu songs have to be performed.

Only classical songs are allowed for classical dance.

Music Club Events

The music club in VVIT, supervised by Mr. K. Rajendra has identified many talented musicians in VVIT. Music club of VVIT focuses on both vocal and instrumental areas. Students of VVIT’s music club are trained with certified music trainers. Both training sessions and practice sessions are conducted every week. All the instruments required by students are provided by VVIT itself. Many events are conducted under music club every week to search the talents of students. Students trained by music club of VVIT participate in different competitions held at different college


PERCUSSION (TABALA, DOLAK, CONGO, ETC) (BASED ON TALA)

This is an individual event.
Time limit for each participant is 5 minutes.
Tala pradhanam Instruments (Jazz Drums, Congo, Mridangam, Tabala, Dholak, etc..,) comes under this category.
Electronic instruments are allowed.
Karaoke is not allowed at any cost.

INSTRUMENTAL GROUP

This is a group event.
Participants must bring their own instruments
Accompanied by maximum five instruments without singer.
Members allowed in each team (3-5).
Time limit is 5 minutes.
Karaoke is not allowed at any cost

VOCAL CLASSICAL (SOLO)

This is an individual event
Time limit for each participant is 5 minutes.
Only carnatic classical songs are allowed.
Classical songs from Movies are not entertained (like Sankara nada sarira para).
Shruti box will not be provided.
Karaoke is not allowed at any cost.

VOCAL WESTERN GROUP

This is a team event and must only in between 3-5 participants.
Time limit for each group is 5 minutes.
All songs are allowed except classical.
Karaoke is not allowed at any cost.

NON – PERCUSSION (ELECTRIC JAZZ, PADS)(BASED ON TALA)

This is an individual event.
Time limit for each participant is 5 minutes.
Raga Pradhanam Instruments (Violin, Guitar, Veena, Flute, Keyboard, etc..,) comes under this category.
Electronic instruments are allowed.
Karaoke is not allowed at any cost.

Any Instrumental (Solo) (Based on raaga)

Duration of performance: 8 minutes
Time for stage / instruments setting is maximum 5 minutes.
Participants must bring their own instruments.
Item can be presented in either Hindustani or Karnatak style.
Judgment is based on the qualities like taal, selection of raga, composition and overall impression

VOCAL WESTERN (SOLO)

This is an individual event
Time limit for each participant is 5 minutes.
All movie songs and pop albums in any language are allowed.
Karaoke is not allowed at any cost.

Theatre Club Events

The Theatre Club in VVIT, supervised by Mr. Siva Prasad Pinnamaneni has identified many talented actors in VVIT. Theatre club of VVIT provides a wonderful path for students interested in acting. The members of VVIT’s theatre club are made to play many skits or dramas on Theatre Day which is held every year in VVIT on a grand scale. Students come out with a lot of talent that many students of VVIT’s theatre club are succeeded in making short films too. Every week training and practice sessions are conducted by theatre club to bring much experience in members of theatre club.


MONO ACTION

This is an individual event with their own theme/scenario.
The participants have to perform for a maximum of 10 minutes.
The dialogues should free from vulgarity and must be written on their own.
The theme based on social issues will be preferred.
Judgement will be based on facial expressions , dialogues and body language.
The decision of judges and event head will be final.

MIMICRY

This is an individual or team event with their own theme/scenario.
The participants have to perform for a maximum of 10 minutes.
The dialogues should free from vulgarity and must be written on their own.
The theme based on social issues will be preferred.
Judgement will be based on facial expressions , dialogues and body language
The decision of judges and event head will be final.

SKIT

This is an individual or team event with their own theme/scenario.
The maximum participants must be 4 to 8 per team.
The participants have to perform for a maximum of 15 minutes.
The dialogues should free from vulgarity and must be written on their own.
The theme based on social issues will be preferred.
Judgement will be based on costume, makeup, dialogues and theme.
The decision of judges and event head will be final.

LITERARY APPRECIATION CLUB Events

The Literary Appreciation Club in VVIT are supervised by Mrs. B. Padma Sri. Education is to give elasticity to the mind. Elasticity is to enable one’s mind to wrap around real and complex ideas, those of fundamental consequence for oneself and for the culture. IT's literary club aims at endowing the measuring of elasticity to the minds of the younger generation.


CREATIVE WRITING

This is an individual event.
The topic/picture will be revealed on spot and the participants have to write sufficiently as mentioned at the time of event.
The writing must be related to the topic/theme/picture displayed.
The picture/theme/topic is displayed for 60 seconds.
Time limit will be 1 hr and the word limit is 1000 words
Participants will be judged on idea mapping, writing skills and expressions
Only sheets will be provided ,Get your own stationary
No Electronic gadgets (laptop, mobiles, smart watches.. etc) shall be not allowed
No second person other than the participants will be entertained
No repetition of the picture.
The decision of judges and event head will be final.

It is a individual game
All the participants should agree upon the dictionary we use,in case of a challenge
All the participants will be given a question paper that contains the following sessions:

TURNCOAT

Turncoat is a form of debate where the speaker literally speaks both pros and cons. The speaker starts by taking a stance on the topic and switches sides after a specific duration of time.

Turncoat Debate:

Topics: The topics will be given on the spot
Preparation time: 3 minutes after topic is given.
Speaking time: Each speaker will have to speak for 3 minutes on the given topic. The initial will be given to the speaker along with the topic. The order or changing sides is as follows:
1 minute  15 seconds- For

30 seconds – Summary
Judging Criteria:

40% Content
20% Physical presence - Eye contact, body language and poise.
20% Voice and articulation - Volume, pace, rhythm, intonation and proper pronunciation.
20% Language - Appropriateness and accurate use of language.

SAP CLUB Events

The social and political awareness club in VVIT, is supervised by Dr. D. Kiran Reddy
The social and political awareness club seeks to develop awareness of pertinent issues in politics,
It includes International, National, Regional, State, local politics and policies .through lectures, films, panel discussions, informal presentations, debates and social interaction among members..
This club functions as a comprehensive forum that interested students can use to further understanding about and dialogue concerning current events.
Social awareness club runs on what’s going on society.
If any scheme introduced, then discussion goes on the pros and cons of it.
Views of this club members regarding a topic are expressed through Group discussions (GD’s).


ELOCUTION

The speech should not exceed 5 minutes.
The time limit will be strictly enforced.
A 30 seconds warning will be given.
The reader is not allowed to read any part of speech from paper, notes or cards etc.
Decision of judges is final.

GENERAL QUIZ

 It is a team event, each team consists of at most 3 members.

PAINTING CLUB Events

The painting club in VVIT, is supervised by J. Geetha Lalitha has identified many tale Artists  The purpose of the painting club is to provide opportunities for experiencing the arts, experiment with artistic processes and to provide a forum for discussion about our mutual interests specifically within the fine arts and with a focus on painting and drawing. All the activities of this club are planned jointly by the club members and the faculty in charge.


THEME PAINTING

The maximum time duration will be 60 minutes.
The theme of the painting will be revealed at the time of competition.
The chart on which the painting has to be done will be provided.
Participants must bring their own colours i.e., colours/paints will not be provided.
Participants must paint strictly on the theme given on spot.

ABSTRACT PAINTNG

Build your abstract painting on a solid compositional structure.
This is the fun part- use whatever technique you have at hand to support the first two steps
Finally realize, as with all creative work , there are no hard and fast rules, except once you make for yourself

T-SHIRT PAINTING

The maximum time duration will be 90 minutes.
The theme of painting is of participant’s choice.
Participants can bring plain T-shirts of white colour. If not, they will be provided upon paying of Rs.100 /- for one T-Shirt.
Painted T-Shirts will not be returned.

CULINARY CLUB Events

The Culinary club of VVIT, is supervised by Ms. K. Jyothi padmaja. The traditional food of India has been widely appreciated for its fabulous use of herbs and spices. Indian Cuisine is known for its large assortment of dishes. India is quite famous for its diverse multi cuisine available in large number of restaurants and hotel resorts which is reminiscent of Unity in diversity. The cuisine of South Indian is known for its light, low calorie appetizing dishes.

Team of two members are allowed.
Participants will not be allowed to join the competition after the scheduled starting time.
Hygienic
Gas stove, oil and utensils are provided.
Carrying other extra spices and ingredients will be according to participants interest.
Pre-cooking and peeling are avoided before competitions.
Egg and non-veg are not allowed.
The evaluation will be made based on hygienic, cleanliness, taste flavour, diversity of skill, cooking methods innovation and preparation

ANIMATION CLUB Events

Animation club started to bring out the talents of students in the fields of animation and graphics. The club helps the students learn to best incorporate multimedia elements into their projects. Several students developed personal blogs, websites as a part of case studies taken in the club, Training sessions and practice sessions are conducted every Friday. Special interest is shown on each and every student. After completion of a particular course, students will be awarded with a certificate. ❖ This club gives an excellent opportunity to every student to survive in the modern world.

Movie Appreciation Club Events

The Movie Appreciation Club in VVIT ,is supervised by Dr. P.Guru Prasad
This club focuses on enlightening the students in true art and make systematic study of films on its educational aspect. This club encourages and motivates the students to make short films on various social awareness programs. A movie with a valuable message is played every week in movie appreciation club and members of this club come out with a valuable message after completion of the movie.


SHORT FILM CONTEST

Have you ever dreamt about being a director!! If yes, you have found the right place to showcase your dreams. Put on your thinking cap and come up with great ideas.

The themes of the contest are like Integrity and Ethical.
Preference is given to comedy, theme based, message oriented. Violence is not accepted.
The short film must include title of film, theme, name of team members and their roles.
The duration of the short film must not exclude 15 minutes of time.
The short film must be appropriate for viewing by the general public.
The short film must not be present in the YouTube or should not use any previous short films.
Only online registrations are allowed. No offline registrations.
Short film should be submitted in a pen drive.
Students pursuing B Tech /M Tech/MCA are eligible to participate in this contest.
Participants must bring their own camera and other technical gadgets as per the requirements.
The judging parameters are based on creativity in storyline, related to theme and originality in submission.
The decision of the judges and event head shall be treated as final.

AD MAKING

It is a team event. Each team should have 4-5 members only.
Topics would be provided on the spot.
5 minutes preparation time for each team.
Time limit for the performing the advertisement is 1-2 minutes.
Participants shall be judged on the basis of spontaenity, content, and adherence to the topic, on-stage presentation, coordination and overall appeal of the advertisement.
The caution should be taken to refrain from displaying obscenity, violence, prejudice, defamation etc. in Advertisement.
Decision of the judges will be final and binding

MOVIE-REVIEW

The participant must select a movie based on following conditions and participant has to address the merits.
Concept should be like Integrity, ethical and motivational.
Concepts like abuse, harassment and violence are not allowed.
The time duration is in between 10-15 minutes.
